Q: What is the purpose of this website?
A: The first purpose is to use video game sprites to teach people karate. There by createing a usefull website for those who are interested in martial arts.
The second purpose was to create a really nice looking 'graphical' website to show off my html abillities.
Q: So basicly the idea is to learn karate from videogames?
A: I bet my Sensei is gonna frown when he see's this.... but yea, sort of.
Q: So this website will teach me how to fight?
A: Ummm, no. You can't learn to fight by reading martial arts books, or watching karate videos. The only way to learn martial arts is to have an instructor who can teach you.
Q: I want to learn martial arts, where should I start?
A: Well, first of all you should choose a style that apeals to you, and find an instructor who will teach you. In terms of this web site, begin with the training section. Once you've learnt some good exercises to use as warm ups, check out the techniques section, and start with "beginer techniques" Work your way up from there and dont expect instant results. Even a black belt grand master will tell you he's still learning.
Q: I noticed all the little sections have mascots, whats with that?
A: Yes, I used characters from Capcom fighting games to represent the different sections. (beginer, intermediate, advanced, ect...) I thought it would add a little character to the website. The main 'mascots' are:
Q: Will this web site be updated regularly? A: No. Once the website is finished, I won't do much updating... Unless I discover mistakes.

Q: How did you get the idea for this?
A: Well, I used to play a lot of videogames (Street Fighter was my favorite). And I noticed that there's a lot of sprite rips from these kind of games. I actually recognised fighting techniques that I (myself) was learning in karate class. Thats how I got the idea. Im pretty sure that mine, is the first website of its kind.
Q: So all these moves are real?
A: Most of the moves on this site are things I learnt at karate. Some of the advanced stuff, I didn't actually learn at karate. But pretty much, the answer to that is yes.
Q: Your site is so great, I wanna put a link to it on my website! Do you have one of those banner buttons I could use?
A: Actually no body asked me this, but just in case you do wanna put a link to DTG and you wanna use one of those graphical button thingies, here's one I made:
Q: Where did you get the animated gifs?
A: I found the sprite rips at various websites around the net. I had to edit a few to make them more acurate or to isolate a particular movement. Heres a list of the urls:

A: For martial arts, fighting games! Especially Street Fighter EX. The 3d graphics show the moves very acuratly. I really wish I had some good animated gifs from that game!
