"
A Rain Forest Retreat"

Fiddlehead Farm is not an ordinary hostel, it is an experience. Visitors from all over the world come to this small British Columbia valley to share in the life of a homestead community in the wilderness.

The 33 hectare (80 acre) farm, accessible  by boat, or by hiking on the sunshine coast trail and  is surrounded by quiet lakes, lush coastal forest and tall mountains. There is a network of trails, varying in difficulty from an easy walk to a scramble up a mountain. It is a unique experience to canoe all alone on the beautiful lakes, far away from civilization.

The small intimate meals give the hostel a family atmosphere. Hostellers enjoy baking bread, chopping wood, collecting eggs, or helping in the garden. Most meals are prepared from the hostel's own farm produce: milk, eggs, vegetables, meat.

Most hostellers come for a week, most stay longer, and all find their stay to be one of the most enjoyable and important parts of their trip.

Work program:

Throughout the year we have positions available for guests to work for a discounted stay or for room and board. This can be arranged on a trial basis while staying at the farm.
